What factory 22-250 round will cause a 5.5hp engine to stop with one shot at 100m?

Personally, I shot at a TV set, a 19 inch computer monitor, two VCRs, a 1981 Ford Escort, 2 liter bottles filled with red Jell-O, soda cans, pumpkins, apples, 12 ga hulls, paper targets, etc. But I must say that the most satisfying was to bring down a flying model airplane with a BB gun at 15 yards. It was a SIG Kadet and the pellet went right through the receiver near the connectors.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with shooting common household objects if it's in a safe place, if you clean up the mess afterwards, and only if the object is possessed.

Regards
George

Yet another reason for anti-gun owners to look on and pass judgement. I understand the recreational sport of shooting, but shooting lawn mowers, moving cars, and so on seems a little childish and destructive wouldn't you say?

Whatever.

The anti's want our guns no matter what we do. We can be as politically corrcet as we want but in the end they still see us as a threat. I'm not going to curb my fun for what a bunch of old geezers on a range might say, or what some lefty browsing this forum might say to their Che Guevara T-Shirt wearing buddies.

F*** them! They look on us and pass judgement because they are judgemental people who are quite comfortable dictating to others on how they should live. I for one am not going to put up with that. When they question our activities, bring them to the range and let the fun convert them, not the other way around.

Pass the human shaped gongs and propane tanks, please.

Just my .02

You say this like its a bad thing. :D

Dude, they're gonna hate us no matter what we shoot. As long as we have elastic bands they'll be nervous. Defending our sport isn't about trying to be inoffensive or politically correct. Sheesh, the day they tell me all I'm allowed to shoot is holes in paper, whats the point? If thats all you like to do go buy a pellet gun and save money. I've never laughed harder then the day I blew up a cabbage with a 308 soft point, good times, good friends. People who have maturity/security/identity issues don't want anyone else to have guns because they don't trust themselves so we all must be bad too, and they won't be happy till were all disarmed and in soft restraints. Balls to the lot of them, no more compromise. Pass me another cabbage..:dancingbanana:

I will not apoligize for being a boy who enjoys his toys!

So long as the impact of that enjoyment does not impinge on others, the bigger the splash, the better!

In life, growing OLD is mandatory...... growing UP is optional!:dancingbanana:

Well I think at times we must remember that there are more of them than there is of us. And with the recent shootings it makes the good and responsible gun owners like the majority of the people on this site look bad. With threats of the government instigating a restriction on all semi auto centre fire rifles, I just think being a stewart of the sport would do us all more good in the end.

I enjoy shooting just as much as the next guy, but I will leave my shooting to paper targets at good distance, moving clays, and animals I intend on eating, that just seems more productive to me than moving cars, lawn mowers, or human shaped targets.
At one time I would have agreed with this statement, not anymore. The antis cannot have their way PERIOD. This is appeasing to the antis in my opinion. I am a hunter first then a recreational shooter and I love busting stuff up with my guns, Do you think if "target shooting" was restricted to paper only we would suddenly have a major loss of interest and participation in our sport and therefore less resistance to the Antis!!!

As long as you clean up your trash, who would know what you shoot up?

In the hills not far from me is a place where all sorts of crap is left over from puss-heads that shoot up TVs, washing machines, and whatever else they have lying around.

I dont mind at all that they shoot it, its when they leave all the #### afterwards that I get upset.

Have fun, be safe (watch for ricochets) and post video!

If it's a 2 stroke i would aim low as the bottom fills with mixture when the piston is at TDC and as the piston moves to BDC the gas is forced into the cylinder. Put a hole there. This will starve the piston of mixture.

A 4 stroke is more difficult. I guess you have two options aim high put a hole in the top of the cylinder (or near the top) head and remove compression or aim for the moving parts like the crank and try and increase the friction so that the detonation is not producing enough energy to keep the engine moving. I would aim high easier shot.

Ive never shot a 22-250 but if it's anything like a 223rem you should be able to shoot the fleas of a dog at 100m.

ps please make a video

You won't need anything special. The cylinder walls are pretty thin on those to promote better air cooling. If I was going to play it safe I'd aim for the sump as It will be pretty thin too.

I've personally shot through 1/4'' steel plate with 40 gr hollow points, fmj, and vmax bullets and all of them penetrated quite easily.

The fmj penetrated quite well and even exited the 4X4 wood block behind it.

The vmax created the most devastating affect as it left about a quarter sized hole in the steel and sent shrapnel into the wood causing it to split apart.

Either of which would result in instant death on a engine.
I've had the exact same experiences with 40 grain V-Max bullets. One shot to the cylender and that engine is done.

Its the same as people that use the human silhouette targets at the range. And you wonder why some people hate guns? I guess we should all go out with our done up SKS's and shoot walmart mannequins, yet another great way to defend our sport.

We used those blow-molded plastic santas and Eight reindeer one year ......That was fun as hell

Userzero: being chased by possessed model aircraft is a bad day
Userzero & Cocked&Locked: you think that cause you intend to eat them that its ok to shoot cabbages and pumpkins?
Xippi: an effigy of St. Nicolaus! Shame on you! :( You are all sick. No wonder we have gun registration with freeks like you running around the country side!

*I realy hope no one takes me seriously*
