what factory load for 243 coyotes ?

For those who shoot a 243 for coyotes, what has been your best factory load in terms of accuracy on paper? I am assuming that you would use your accuracy load for coyotes.

I don't shoot a 243, but every rifle is different and what works well in one may not in another. You usually use a lighter bullet for coyotes, but if the pelt is not an issue, what ever shoots well in your rifle will do. Just my .02 and worth what you paid for it.
 
"...what factory load for 243 coyotes..." You'll have to try a box of as many brands and bullet weights as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best. The cost of said ammo means nothing.
"...accuracy load for coyotes..." Absolutely. No point in using anything else. Mind you, I haven't used factory ammo for 30 some years.
The rifling twist does though. Mind you, most commercial .243 hunting rifles are rifled for deer sized game. 85's and up. Even the assorted 'varmint' rifles.
The bullet used matters, if you're keeping the hides. Varmint bullets will certainly kill a coyote, but they'll also make big holes in the hide. Don't think anybody is loading hide hunting bullets(commercial fmj's or match bullets) in .243.
 
I have used factory 95 grain Winchester XP3 bullets on deer and it drops them harder than any other bullet I have seen A bit pricey but worth it. I handload and have good results with 80 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips.

I understand that I will have to try a few to get something that my particular rifle likes.
I just got a new x bolt in 243......we are in mid coyote season......It is winter....I am looking for a short cut to get something that will be reasonable for balance of season.Detailed testing will have to wait for warmer weather.I will probably try something in the 75 to 85 grain range.

I handload Hornady VMAX bullets for my .270 & they are great varmint bullets. I can shoot 3/4" groups with them so they are accurate too. If you can buy factory .243 VMAX loads I would recommend you try them.
 
My Rem700 Varmint loved the cheapo Winchester 100 grain soft points from WalMart. Consistenvcy was great. Always shot a small ragged hole at 100m. Little expansion on a coyote unless it went through the spine. Just as good as jacketed ammo as the soft points usually left only two little holes.
