What game will you NOT hunt, and why?

cou: Gators and Crocks. Cuz they scare me. cou:

I'd definitely bowhunt for gators or crocs. You shoot em with a reel and 300lb line on a barbed arrow, then have to haul them in a hit em with a bangstick? Awesome...

Seriously though, if you gave me the opportunity, I'd probably hunt for just about anything. Granted, I would have to think about it for a few sconds on a case by case basis.

Right now budget is the only thing that restricts my hunting. I am fine with people hunting anything as long as they are not endangered. Oh and I am OK with whales as long as you either eat it or mount it. :)

Jez, so far I've shot most of the sacred list.:stirthepot2: I take it you're all OK with whales?:p

I wouldn't hunt whales or dolphins either. I don't know what the f@ck I'd do with a dead whale...I've never wanted to hunt giraffes since I don't have a trophy room tall enough for one.

Big cats are off limits for me, and I can't really explain why. Everything else is on the menu.

I'd like to rifle hunt tortoises and turtles. Not really sporting, but sounds fun.;)

I also hunt only what I eat.

That pretty much excludes any predator in Western Canada save Black Bears.
I'm not super keen on that meat either but always carry a tag in Fall. They can have an attitude in some places I go to hunt deer, elk, moose and sheep.

Same with birds, mostly grouse are good around here. Don't care too much for the meat of geese or most waterfowl.

I have no issues though with others trophy hunting or doing predator control as long as it's legal and sustainable.
Trophy hunting makes big contributions to conservation, sustainability adn economic growth in many places. Takes more time than I have though and can't afford guided trips.

I love hittin stuff with my bangstick!!!!

If there is an open season, and I have the money and time to fill the tag, I don't think there is something I wouldn't hunt at least once!

There is always a use for something (rug, meat, trophy....)!

Anything I can eat (and that includes a lot) or anything that is a "varmint" (something destructive of property like gophers and coyotes around here).

My wife used to bug me about gopher shooting (even when land owners bought me ammo to thin them out) because they were "too cute". Then a family of them moved in under our neighbor's shed, and started eating her garden stuff. One day she stormed into the house and told me, "I want those gophers dead, and I want them dead now!" I went out with a lawn chair and the pellet gun.

She doesn't bother me any more when I shoot gophers.

Jesus !! It must have felt like an epiphany to hear that coming from the wife!
You have graduated to the next level. You are now allowed to purchase however many new and used firearms to your hearts content.
Right on! !

I agree with some others, the big cats, i just don't think there is enough of them around, any cats actually, you just don't see enough of them in the wild, either here or in africa.

Can't speak for the rest of the world but there is an overabundance of cougars in my part of Canada!

Biologists have been encouraging hunters to step up thier hunting of all predators, including wolves, cougars, yotes...
