What gear on you?

I’d say you could get away with a sturdy belt and a couple mag pouches like Kris I run two mags on my belt sometimes you just don’t have time between stages to load up a mag because you are dealing with other things so having that extra mag ready to go is a life saver. I also run a battle belt I keep it simple two tacos for my mags and a pistol taco for my kestrel. I removed my dump pouch and put it on my back pack because I found that often the brass would end up in the mud and my dump pouch would get filled with mud and just get dripping wet. I keep a carabiner on the hard point of my belt in case I want to clip my sling to it for tripod stages or to clip a rear rest if I think I might need it. DS tactical is now carrying really cool mag pouches that use a locking cable system so you can make the pouch the exact size of the magazine or whatever you want to put in it.

Sometimes you never learn.

I had read this thread and ordered a couple more mag pouches based on the advice here. Unfortunately they did not arrive in time for my match. First stage of the day, load up, hit the barricade and let off the first shot. Go to cycle the bolt and nothing, try again, nothing...

My mag imploded on me me, not sure if the spring got stock at the bottom or what but my mag turned into a empty box. If I had a spare mag on my I could at least have salvaged a the stage a little bit.

I just can't get behind PMags... Beyond seeing 2 explode personally Iv had bad experiences with my old AR when they were pinned.

I run a simple kydex mag pouch for an extra mag. Sometimes I also run a small dump pouch as an easy way to carry empty mags and any brass that was picked up for me. You really don’t need much, even the kydex pouch is unnecessary if you can grab a mag out of your pocket quickly.

Keep it simple. I run 2 highlander tactical kydex mag holder. I like the kydex over cloth style because they don't collapse when empty and have great retention yet super fast to pull a mag. If I need a pump pillow I will attach to my belt with a tether. I use to have a battle belt with mag holders, dump pouch etc. Found it hot in the summer and got in to way depending on the stage.

You guys just saved me some money. I was getting ready to put a battle belt together. Now I'm going to buy a strong standard 1.75" belt and add a bump bag and magazine pouch or two.
