I find all the stainless and marine advertised stuff to be a bit extravagant.
Note that cars and roofs are steel and tin, and yet they manage to stay in fine condition for years and years, even when they're exposed to continuous abuse and weather. They're also very rarely cleaned, for the most part.
Take care of your firearm and it doesn't really matter whether it's blued or stainless.
Don't buy into all the "marine" gear and stainless steel. For starters, stainless steel still rusts. Synthetic stock I would prefer over wood, but really that's just a personal preference.
Think of all the wooden bridges and decks and patios that are made of wood, and subjected to abuse of time and weather, and are still fine. It's because they are maintained.
Quite frankly, blued, parkerized, oxide coated, or stainless, they'll all still rust if they aren't looked after.
