What gun have you talked yourself INTO and OUT OF multiple times?

Maybe most people wrestle with the same thing, but this afternoon....I had a wave of nostalgia, thinking about a couple of guns I wish I'd never sold. (neither rimfires) Whenever I feel a hint of regret, I consider buying the same guns back someday..but then talk myself out of it thinking, it won't have the same story..or history attached to it. ALSO, I had one I liked/loved, and flipped it=what makes me think it's replacement will be a keeper? lol In my case, it's the same 2 guns I think about..all the time, and I torture myself with frequent EE searches.

Latest challenge is a gun I've never held/shot, but am drawn to-a BRNO 581. I've talked myself into, and out of one of these rifles easily a dozen times. I don't want this gun haunting me anymore, so if you have one-tell me the pros/cons. I've owned 4 x 22 semis over the years, and never ONCE loved shooting them. The odds are already against me loving the 581, but if any of you say they're amazing/accurate/easy to clean, you might ruin my summer. lol They look a bit heavy=OK offhand shooter? Balance OK?

Any guns, specifically rimfires, a distraction for you guys...in spite of what your common sense tells you?

The GSG-16. I already have a semi auto .22lr that I enjoy very much, but for some reason, I have to stop myself every time I see them on the EE lol. I'm going to blame their aesthetics.

I rushed out and bought one immediately, shot twice and sold it. It lost its 110 round mag dump appeal fast.

I talked myself into and out of the CZ scorpion repeatedly, finally “pulled the trigger” on a Black Friday sale and was so glad I did. I really liked it and my wife really took to it. That is the gun that finally got my wife begging to go to the range. In the end the government decided my fate in terms of CZ scorpion ownership... for now.

OMG... BRNO 581 !!!

I have had two of them and both were great. I still have the second one. The only reason I let the first one go was because my brother wanted it after I bought the second one, which I only bought because I liked the blonde wood and new stock design better.

To this day my two brothers wine about eventually selling the one I gave them back then. They were just late teens at the time.

Back on the farm, we were wondering how many rounds it would take before it jammed without a cleaning. We kept piling up boxes for weeks. I don't remember how many it was but we were well into our second brick or maybe third. (My brother swears it was around 2400 rounds. He's probably right.) The only reason it jammed was because so much ammo lube crud had accumulated inside the chamber, that the round would not enter the chamber. All I did was run a brush through it and off we went.

The take down and trigger assembly is pure genius in simplicity. Kind of reminds me a little of a Mini 14 actually with the recoil spring out front. Push button release to remove the trigger group.

The bolt has a small roller bearing at the top at the back so the bolt does not actually touch the side wall of the action. That keeps it clear of obstructions.

Accuracy was great for a semi auto and I swore I would never get another 1022, but eventually caved in, just for the accessories though.

No it is not heavy... Might be 5.5 pounds at most but I'm just guessing. I could weigh it for you if you want.

If you have a hankering for a BRNO 581, by all means get one if you can find someone dumb enough to part with it.

I want one of those Chiappa M1-9 (9mm but looks like M1 Carbine). Heard too many bad things about them, and watched too many youtube videos about feeding and ejection issues. Sounds like you either get a perfect one or a horrible one. Nothing in between. So saving my money for now. Maybe I'll buy a used one at some point... maybe....

You are correct, they are awesome little rifles. A friend admired mine at the range one day, a few months later I picked up a pristine one at auction and gave it to him. He was REALLY pleased to receive it!

Haha... CZ's... Swore I'd never buy another, now I've got 3. I may end up with a 457 at some point. I kinda eye up the rifles that are fairly easy to fit up with a custom barrel, seems to be my new thing.

put about 2k rds through my gsg 16
All with the stick mags not drum. (Get 2 more mags)

Any new shooter I have, it’s the one they are most drawn too.

It jams if its dirty and it’s a pain to clean but for $500 I’m very happy with it

gsg16 has become my goto coon gun. No more cooey in one hand, flashlight in the other. When the kid's friends come over too, it's always the one they want to shoot most. And is cycles subsonics reliably, which is nice.

I've been having a debate with myself about a G19 for a couple years now. Was close a couple times..

Browning Cynergy. I keep wanting one really bad, holding one, wanting it even more, then thinking "I should buy a Citori or Silver Pigeon instead".

I just don't really love Citoris or Silver Pigeons as much. So I keep coming back to the Cynergy. CX model, 12ga/3"/30". If they made one with grade II/III wood and a nice takedown carry case, my credit card would be on fire.

Fx9. Something else seems to intervene and consume my budget before I get around to buying one. The situation reminds me of several others I waited to long on.

I love the Brno/CZ 581/511 rifles, I've had 4 or 5 over the years, still have one, and all have been good in the accuracy department. In my eyes there are three negatives, 1; Tough and expensive to find spare magazines. 2; Not much you can do about the trigger, they are usually fairly heavy (3 to 5 pounds) but crisp. 3; Tough to find parts, if you happen to need them, but they are kinda built like tanks, just avoud dry firing as much as possible. Other than that, one of the nicest semis you can find. By the way, I'm mainly a bolt guy, but I've narrowed my semi auto 22 lrs down to 5, Brno 581, HK 270, Browning SA and two custom 10/22's. None of them are leaving any time soon.

I am battling right now with the possible purchase of a Mossberg 940 JM Pro shotgun... Every time I go to the store, I hope it is sold, so I don't have to think about it anymore... heh heh

^with you on the FX-9. It's a gun I'd love to see in the safe, but same story... Save, save, save for the "toy" fund, get within easy striking range of the FX-9, and something else catches my eye or a bill needs to be paid. lol I think if there was the correct amount of resolve/lack of indecision...I'd already have one. I've yet to shoot one, but will admit the first time I held one at my LGS, I wasn't as thrilled as I thought I'd be. Heavier than I expected, sharp edges, muzzle heavy, etc.

Still want one. :)

Talked myself into and out of the dlask tuf 22 tons of times in the last year. Then thought about a CZ, then a Tikka t1x. Kept doing research on all of them.

Just ended up with a Bergara BXR Carbon (and no dlask lol). We shall see how it goes when I get it lol.

Now that I think about it, I’m a rimfire nut, but I’ve never owned a Sako, I always seem to talk myself out of it. Last fall a guy was selling a P54 sporter that I almost talked myself into, still kinda regretting I didn’t.
