What gun have you talked yourself INTO and OUT OF multiple times?

I considered buying a TUF-22 and ended up with a Ruger Custom Shop 10/22 Competition.

It’s a great rifle although a bit front heavy.

A Lee Enfield No5 Mk1

It is a fantastic rifle, a piece of history and I convinced myself I needed one when I was offered one for 300$ back then. I bought cheap 303br ammo, every components to reload and hardware.

Shot it maybe 40 times ? It was fun and accurate but just didn’t fit in any of categories of stuff I do with guns that makes me happy. That would be running around and making a lot of holes fast in cardboard dressed like I’m out of 13hours of Benghazi :p

The Jungle Carbine just didn’t scratch any other itch than historical values so I let her go I replaced it with another AR

M60. Until I found out seller wants x2 what he paid for it. Maybe justified, but too much scratch to gamble; "belt-fed" is an easy classifier, perhaps even more so than "semi".

Browning Cynergy. I keep wanting one really bad, holding one, wanting it even more, then thinking "I should buy a Citori or Silver Pigeon instead".

I just don't really love Citoris or Silver Pigeons as much. So I keep coming back to the Cynergy. CX model, 12ga/3"/30". If they made one with grade II/III wood and a nice takedown carry case, my credit card would be on fire.

This is an urge you need to indulge. I wanted one for a few years and finally took the plunge. Mine is a (2009?) Euro field model with the splashy engraving on the receiver and nicer wood than the current run of the mill lumber.
The funky recoil pad works quite well, easy to adjust LOP with the included spacers.
Really nice shotguns, mine gets used for skeet, trap, and sporting clays. It's a tad heavy for a field gun, which makes it nicer for the higher-round-count days at the club.
If you prefer extractors over ejectors, they're easy to convert by simply removing the ejector sears, takes about 5 minutes.
I bought mine used, like any Browning they'll last forever if you take care of them.

I hemmed and hawed about an Anschutz 54 target rifle, preferably an xx07, for quite a few years.
During a half-serious "I wish I had one" phase I was talking with a friend who owned a 1407, and the topic came up.

I think his words were along the lines of, "Well, if you want one, you should buy mine.. I haven't used it in a while"
He'll probably regret it, but I know I won't. It's a great rifle.

410 revolve carbine. I'm aware of a new batch coming in from revolution arms and I'm really tempted to get one this time around. Missed out on EE a few times due to budget

Can't afford $750 for a fun gun when I already have a 410 pump. I really want one, but the wife would kill me.

I have a pre-order for 22lr revolver carbine, which might scratch the itch a bit, but I'm thinking of trading or selling the Mossberg 410 I have to get one eventually. Idk. Really tempted

Ruger 77/22 bought for silhouette sporting class when a 6 power scope was the rule.
Bedded the rifle with brass chips from the trimmings from my Forster trimer.
When the 6 power rule was eliminated I sold the scope and eventually traded for a Remington 541 using the Ruger for part trade value.
The Ruger appeared in the LGS and with the brass in the bedding confirmed, I bought it back.
Unfortunately, ammo was not test to the extent I go to today so it went down the road.

The 541 had a second action screw installed and the barrel shortened to 22" and then sold it.
Saw it on CGN advertised with a 22" and confirmed it had been mine.
Another rifle that went down the road because ammo was not tested sufficiently.

Bought a CZ 452 Varmint. Accurized by freezing the front screw dovetail lug to the barrel.
Eventually bought a CZ452 American (Australian really).
Sold them both to finance a Remington 40XBR vowing I would not buy another CZ.
As deals come and go, bought a CZ455 American and then a CZ455 Varmint with the Laminated TH Stock.
Sold the Varmint to finance a Cooper and will give the American to my Daughter.

Won a Ruger 10/22 in the mid-80's and sold it within the week. Said I would never own one but times have changed.
Have one for Speed Steel and the other for 100 M. Rimfire with a Dlask 0.920 barrel and a Kidd trigger kit. PI$$ Around . . . PI$$ Around.
