I know nothing of air handguns other than what I’ve seen in most Box stores. I’m looking for one for mostly indoor shooting, non restricted and hopefully under $200.00. I think I would prefer pellet and a good target shooter. Majority of my center fire are revolvers but have several 1911 and various 22 handguns.

You have to decide are you after CO2, spring break, pneumatic. Then you can start narrowing it down.
That’s a good question. I would prefer to have something more than a single shot. I guess something that’s fairly quiet, and simply to operate. I did have a Crossman CO2 bb pistol 50 years ago. Other than getting CO2 cylinders that were expensive and hard to get back then it seemed to work ok but would prefer pellets.
It’s something that would be used indoors to break the boredom of winter for my wife and I and I can’t do any shooting for several months due to shoulder surgery.

I have pistols of each type, except pcp. I really don't mind CO2 pistols. I just picked up another. It's a Snowpeak CPM-1 CO2 target pistol. It comes with a single shot tray or a multi shot cylinder magazine. It's a Chinese made target gun but seems to be pretty well made. And they are on for $129.99 (reg. $189.99) and free shipping. But there is a whole whack of various pistols out there with many of them being very realistic to the original. Just a matter of deciding on what you want in relation to how much you want to spend.

Op...you want a fairly accurate single shot pellet HG for indoors? A Crosman 1377 or 1322 may fit your bill. It's well under $200 and the money saved will get you lots of extras.
I shoot my 1322 in the basement and 3-4 pumps is all that's needed. My 1322 has a steel breech with a LPA rear sight and is accurate.....

I had no idea there were so many different types of air pistols available. The single shots look good but I’m really wanting a repeater of some sort. Anyone have one more like a single action or double action revolver or 1911?

I have several revolvers and various 1911's . As mentioned, depending on what you get, some are very realistic when compared to the real deal. Most can be had for under $200.00 new. They will be CO2.

There is also the "Triple Threat" by Crossman, it includes three barrel lengths. These guns are good, and have rifled barrels. For more accuracy and a better build quality, you can also get the German made S&W 586 Pellet in either 4'' or 6''. They are good, but additional cylinders don't work as well as the ones that come in the box.

It's okay but there are much better quality, nicer looking and more realistic pistols out there for under the $200.00 price range you gave. If you want Crosman, one of their nicer ones is the Remington 1875. It's a fairly nice pistol that will shoot BB's or pellets and can be had for $150.00. Or look at many of the guns made by Umarex. Airguns are like anything else, you can buy lower price versions if cost is the driving factor, or you can buy better quality and still be under your budget.
Be warned though. These airguns can become addicting and there are so many to choose from whether it be revolvers, semi auto, full auto (yes, you can buy full auto pistols or rifles), spring break, pneumatic, pcp. Many are so close to the real deal that they make excellent display pieces or for practice shooting. Then of course you can get into the vintage airgun arena!!
I lucked out 2 years ago. There was a fellow locally whose father had passed away and he had an air pistol collection of around 15. The son wasn't into them so he sold the lot. There were revolvers and semi-autos. There was a nice tooled leather holster and belt. All were in cases and all had extra magazines and all were like new.

I have been doing a lot of checking on the web and my head hurts now. Can’t believe the wide variety from cheap to holy crap I’m not spending that much. I need to get out and visit some of the places here in Calgary to see what they have and how they feel. I can’t remember if it was a Daisy or Crossman CO2 model I had 50 years ago but it was all metal and had a slide on the side you pushed and 5 or 6 BB’s would load from the magazine and you had that many shots before doing it again. Looked sort of like a Ruger Mark 22 pistol. Shot a lot of pests such as mice and rats with it.
After doing some more looking the pistol I had back all those years was a Daisy 200 BB CO2 pistol.

The 2240 is a .22. If you are just plinking or target shooting, it is usually cheaper for pellets if you go .177. Plus you generally have more pellet options.

But honestly, for shooting tin cans at close range, airsoft pistols are very fun too! People willing to pay a really high price can even have pistols made of steel(yes, steel. And a very hard one to my surprise) and with descent blowback:

This is the funniest airgun I shooted with. And as a guy who love to refinish his firearms, it's cool to have airguns in steel because it's easy to customize and refinish them.

What do you mean by high price? One can buy pistols or revolvers made mostly out of steel for under $150.00
The 150$ air pistols are made with zinc alloy. They are still great guns to shoot, but zinc alloys are generally lighter, much weaker than steel, and cannot be blued or parkerized. The 1000$ airsoft pistol I posted is made of steel, like a real 1911a1. So, the weight is more realistic, the gun is more soild, and the blowback action have more kick. But it's a lot of money...
