Hi there. So! I'm a huge fan of the Lee Enfield and I saw on Marstar that there are some from AIA in .308. Which is brilliant! However I was told that they're not in stock mainly due to AIA not operating. But then I did read that they are. So does anyone have any more recent info on 'em and what they're doing?
Because I'm not too sure what to believe right now concerning AIA. Thanks!

Looks like AIA was closed but has recently reopened. They seem to be focusing on the OZ market first. Also looks like they are going to make some copies of the trial Longbranch shortened and lightened rifle,

Marstar, does have some in stock. They may not have the model you desire but any of them are very desireable to have and shoot.

I have had four of them and kept the two I like most.

I kept an M10 B2 Match with all accessories and the 7.62x39 version.

Both shoot like lazers and are beautiful. They will shoot selected hand loads in 1/2 inch, as long as I do my part.

The other two I traded off, were every bit as accurate and beautiful but had become redundent and my needs had drifted to something else.

If Marstar has one in stock, grab it. They won't be back in Canada for several years to come.

One thing though, they are a few pounds (appx 1 kg) heavier than a standard No1 or No4.

Yeah I've heard as much considering their accuracy. Weight is no issue to me, I like to know I'm holding something ;) So your advice is to grab one now eh? Because from what I can tell, trying to find them for sale through auction or private seller is kinda rare. Or am I wrong?

They are starting up again with a focused selection of very accurate rifles. Because the AU dollar is higher now, and the focus on quality hand built rifles, expect them to be much more expensive.

I would get one if/when you can.
I have two, and love both of them.

Considering that you can buy a cut down Lee Enfield No. 4 for less than $100, that might have something to do with why they've stopped trying to sell essentially the same rifle for $800 over here.

Well I gave in. Sold my AIA about a year ago and just found another just like it, just bought it. Going in cicles... Oh well :D

What they are selling is far, and away much different than a sporter LE.
If you took a look at one in your hands you would see all the differences.
Aside from caliber, they are new rifles. Modern CNC machining, and metallurgy.

If that is truly your opinion of the AIA rifle, I can only surmise the extent of your research has been to look at a picture, or two, and base your conclusion on that. You obviously haven't read much about them.
Ask someone near you that has one if you can try it out.
You might be surprised.
