What Happened to Bushnell Customer Service?

Korth does really well. Love their customer service. BUT I just got burned with buying a second hand Leupold at auction. Paid over $500 for a "New in-box VXIII 1.5-5x", somewhat high $ but they aren't made any more and it was just what i needed on a particular rifle. Got the "new in box" scope, and adjustments were not smooth. Sent it to Korth. Korth said it was a fake. To their credit, they sent it back to me at their expense, but of course not fixed either. I was aware that there were Leupold knock offs in 3-9x and some of the fancier high power models, but unaware that there were counterfeit Leupolds in the low power variable style too. I sold that scope for $25 get rid of it. That's all anyone would pay for a rough, kinda OK new fake. That was an expensive lesson.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the counterfeit --- did that happen to be a mildot 1.5-5x? I've seen a couple of those on some retailers "used" listings, and they've always been fakes.

I got (initially) burned on a counterfeit Vortex holographic sight, but when I contacted Vortex, they were curious to receive the sight for an inspection as that model had not, to their knowledge, been previously counterfeit. I got lucky and they ended up replacing it with a brand new, legitimate, sight.

I guess it's best to call in the serial numbers to prove their pedigree and at least save some postal charges.

These fake Leupypulls, they worth fixing?
Such as sending them into Trace Scope Repair?

Sad to hear about Bushnell closing their place in Canada. No issues with service before that. Whoever is running that show has no idea how marketing works. You have a respected line like Elite, Legend, Trophy and even Banner that most everyone in the hunting world knew exactly what to expect when purchasing. It takes years to develop that understanding. All of a sudden you got Prime, Forge, Engage, Match, etc. etc.. To add to the confusion, some are made here some are made there.

I couldn't keep track so just gave up looking at them. If I saw a good used Japanese Elite I would buy it but the forever warranty is no good if they are passing you back a Korean or Chinese scope in exchange.

When I got out of trade school I bought all Craftsmen tools from Sears. Before some people's time but these were made in the USA quality tools. Maybe not the finish of a Snap On but right up there in quality. I broke a socket (think 4 ft snipe) and went to Sears to get a replacement. They passed me a socket made in China that you could pick up in any yard sale for a quarter. Buddy says "They are still warrantied for life, what is the problem?" I think the folks at Sears figured out what the problem was too late.

Me too 2750 !
They've been excellent to deal with for a long long time for me !!
Been dealing with Bushnell since they were on Hastings St in Vancouver. I used to drop off my defective Scopechiefs back in the day when I was coast to coast moving families back and forth.

Fast forward 35 yrs....Just finished up an ordeal that started for me after new years. Like normal, I sent 4 scopes back to Vaughn Ont for replacement. Updates told me that CP tried 3 times to deliver my package but couldn't because of "wrong address". It sat there for another 5 days then arrived back in Hfx.
Landed here...figured it would be out for delivery in a day or two. Next notice was ...checked in Mississauga next evening !!!!!
...they couldn't explain WHY it went back to Ontario either, so I initiated a claim. Another 8 or 9 days gone by..Apparently CP found an old Scarborough address for Bushnell, so they flew it BACK to Toronto. Once again, they tried there and STILL no delivery could be made. Finally got em back over a week later...THEN, it cost me 15 bucks for the postage back to me [was sent in a flat rate box]....32 days total gone..lol

Called my local gunshop (6 hrs away) he said he'd get it figured out for me. I was there on Wednesday. He followed thru. Got the rep to come in..he took the scopes and I got my credit. I asked if he would send them back...NOPE...destruction here was immanent !
I was gonna p/u a new Matchpro for my X Bolt LR Max in 6.5PRC...but I didn't because of this bushy cluster fudd. They're still claiming Lifetime Warranty...but for how much longer. I see Bow-Flex just went chapter 11...there goes another lifetime warranty...lol

In the past years of good dealings with the repair lab, they've always sent me a replacement that was the same...equal to, or better than what I sent them. Sometimes MUCH better. than.
Case in point...I received 2 Bushnell Forges for two Legend 2.5x15x40's...because they were the only scopes on hand in stock that went from low 2.5 power and up to 15.
They'd often emailed me and ask if I was OK with a deploy reticle in a better scope, or if I needed a multi X reticle..sometimes I did (for other friends on their behalf).
Received Nitro's for 3200's..sometimes 30 mm tubes for 1 inch tubes. Stellar service for a long time.

Sad news that the Vista takeover by the Czech's has stopped our little pc of Canadian history. It was good while it lasted but unfortunately a sign of the take over times !!
