What happened to Elite scopes?

I upgraded a bushnell 3200 to a VX3i, the Leupold is smaller and lighter I can't say I see any difference in glass or clarity except maybe at really low light not sure it was really worth upgrading. I have another 3200 4-12 on my yote rig even though it is a bit bigger and heavier than a newer scope might be it is clear has quick twist parallax adjustment and the gun shoots dimes at 300 yards no need to change me thinks.

Best way to see IF your scope and rifle will hold its zero is drop onto the ground onto to a log to simulate a real world scenario.

My Bushnell Forge 4.5 - 27 x 50 on a CZ MTR hit the cement shop floor
scope first then was knocked rite off the MTR (loose base screws) at the range
onto the concrete floor , a few scratches later not a problem .
I also have a Bushnell Elite 2.5 - 16 that loves me .

Anyone know the Exact difference between a ELITE 4200 and a ELITE 4500 ? RJ

IIRC, Bushnell quit calling scopes 3200(3x range) or 4200( 4x range) instead calling them all just elite. The outcry made them bring back the designation after about a year. But they came back as 3500 and 4500 instead of 3200 and 4200.

The 4200 is a excellent scope. The 3200 was the best entry level scope for the money, and not a lot of money. Have not heard how the Forge compares.

If you have "a" rifle, perhaps big money scopes are doable. When you have ___safes, nightforce, khales, Swarovski.....etc just dont make it on every rifle.

There is a market for good value scopes, now that Bushnell has gone third world manufacturing, and Nikon is done.

Haven't found the eye relief to be any kind of issue, have a 3-9 on this 9.3x62 that kicks like a mule and I still have my eyebrows lol

Have an Elite 6500 on my .300 WM A bolt, never any issues. Good glass and built like a tank.

I killed a 3200 on my 270 win. It got fixed but I have yet to shoot it. I always found the glass nice and bright on it. Was surprised it broke though.

The Forge and Engage binoculars are getting very good reviews on the bird watching forums. Those folks may not know hunting but they are very picky about binocular quality. I am looking for a higher magnification set for shed hunting fields this year and the information suggests that Bushnell has actually improved the glass.

I have Japanese Elites on my rifles and really like them. My son upgraded from an Elite to a VX2 Leupold last year and it failed first season.

A VX2 is no where near an upgrade of an Elite. Will take an Elite over any of comparable Leupold'S that I have had,,, (VX2 and VX3 models).

we have few elite mostly 4200s and some elite named not the 4500 version. i have a 1.6-6x36 with firefly reticle that is great but the very short eye relief passed 4 on my 9.3x62 but was great on my 300 savage.

the great features of those scopes are: rainguard, very strong and robust and the quality of the glasses (lenses).

but i will say the clarity or luminosity usable of a glass is not only the glasses and lenses reticle plays a lot in too.
