soooooooooooooooooo months of preparation,,auto food dispenser, stand set up wayy nice n early,,months of plenty of beautifull deer pics on the trail cam,,and now first weekend of deer hunting season AND NOTHING!! ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS +,no sight of a deer,the cam takes pics of me going to my stand (no bucks or the spikey that were trained to come to the feeder),,pile of untouched food under the feeder,,not even the females or the doe are coming around anymore,(not that i would ever poach) what did i do wrong? do deer feel,instinctively that something is up right before hunting season begins and not move much?
What happened to my deer??? :o(

did you see just bucks? Cause they are with the doe's now. People wonder why i get excited when the does are constantly coming to my cams, well the doe's won't wonder far out of their area where a buck will to find a doe and leave your cams and stand.

that must be it..i stopped throwing apples a few weeks ago,so they can come to the feeder at 6 am,(when it feeds by timer)...ok, back to apples tom morning,, yeah im sure theres an apple n carrot buffet every other corner for themm, and no, no acorns anywhere around here

Out in my area, it does seem to have an impact on the movement of deer.

about mt scent,i dont use any scent away stuff,,my spot is basically in my back yard (i live in the woods basically) i figure the deer are used to my scent from me feeding them all summer,which is proven because i have/had pics of them coming to eat almost daily,,no,its something in the past few weeks.. its maybe the other hunters in the area that have come around with their apples and carrots..there is no farmland around here and nothing could have been harvested that could have attracted them..its rained alot in the past few weeks though,,
My problem also.Finally seen one deer at my place tonight. When they harvested the corn the deer stopped coming as much.Going to try carrots and apples next and then my deer horns. Then it will be doe season and a buck will show up.

I think aliens swooped down and took them all away! At least that's the case here. I sat in my stand for the first 2 days of rifle season in the middle of deer heaven and heard 2 shots. Probably hundreds of other hunters within hearing distance.
I got no explanations for you, bears will drive them out but they would be at your bait too. Some have said a few rifle shots will drive them away too but I don't believe it.

Apples work well around here until the snow hits then the deer look to higher calorie foods like corn. I bait with apples and corn until the snow then drop the apples as the deer quit eating them......
had that bear scenario last year,same preparation.same deer pics,,then one day a big black bear showed up in my pics,and gone were the deer.. this year no bear,either he got clipped by a hunter or he packed up n moved,(or the aliens came got the bear last year,this year the bucks! lol,,nah im almost certain its the apples everywhere that made them break their routine,(coming to eat in my yard

The deer are switching their food source right now (where I am at) they are going from grazing on clover to browsing on trees. The change over is always frustrating as the deer will move away from were they were hanging out all summer to a new area.
Also the pre-rut activity is starting to kick in and a few bucks have been chasing does already. Food will become less and less important as the rut ramps up.
