Has the ACR gone out of production?:stirthepot2:

Joking aside I thought they were supposed to be here by now. It would be nice to get a few in country before they are discontinued.
Then they will become overnight collectors items.;)

The one on the EE was a converted restricted with a custom barrel. Gravel were meant to be bringing these into the country as Non-restricted from Bushmaster.
Given your description of problems and price, I expect these to be discontinued sooner rather then later.

The ACR was the biggest blunder I've ever seen by any major manufacturer...

They had a great opportunity to go after a fresh market and how they f**ked up so bad, we'll never know. It looks like AX160 will now fulfill that market.

It's a real shame, all the big wigs at Shrubmaster should be fired, complete tools.

What's the blunder? Lack of available product?

Really?

How about the projected price vs actual price...

and the recalls?

...or the lack of availability?

Those three things really hurt the chances for success when you launch a new rifle/platform into the market.... no? I think they over promised and waaay under delivered.

Wasn't the ACR originally supposed to cost around $1000 or something low like that?

Drop the attitude, I was just asking a question.

I just picked up a non-res ACR last night. Seems like a decent gopher gun. Time will tell.

Sorry, I'm so brutal for that, my posts sometimes come off arrogant and I never really catch it till I re-read it. It's because I'm at work and I always type in a hurry. Apologies,

No attitude intended.

No problem, I apologize as well for jumping on you.

Nemesis-I picked it up on the ee. I used my tavor last year for gophers, and it's not really cut out for that, so I was going to pick up a Swiss arms for squeaks, but stumbled upon an ACR for sale. Hopefully it will do the trick, the previous owner got great groups with it.

What problems are we talking about? The only substantial one I recall was something to do with the bolt carrier welds or something like that which I thought was fixed.

As for price I think anyone thinking it would be a sub $2500 firearm was dreaming. XCR-M are in that range and I believe so is the RFB. I'd expect the ACR to eventually come down in price to be competitive unless Bushmaster thinks its name has some sort of snob appeal.

Those are both .308, so not really apples to apples comparison. In the US this rifle seems to be selling between $1800 and $2500. The problem stems from Magpul saying the price would be closer to $1500 on introduction.

The non restricted guns from Gravel are about 2 to 4 months out still from what I heard a few days ago. Apparently they have a few non restricted 6.8 conversions in stock, that include all the barrel mounted hardware so they are a true drop in conversion. Comes with a mag and bolt of course. Hope to have one fairly soon.
