Hi
Can anyone tell me what happened to the post where the fellow was asking what the value of the three S&W revolvers in wood cases was? One was a model 27 another was a model 29 and I can't remember what the third was.

I am just wondering where it went or where I saw it.

Thanks Graydog

You're not allowed to discuss the market for used guns or their value?

mods tend to delete any thread where it even hints that the op was trying to make a sale outside of the EE. not saying that was the reason in this case but unless the op asked for its removal then i dont see any other reason why they would remove it. for the record the op was asking for a friend and not atempting a sale as i pmed him about the two guns.

As everyone is aware, all sales etc are to be confined to the Equipment Exchange [aka EE]. Generally, "what's it worth" threads are allowed where there is an earnest request to ascertain values of particular items. It gets to be a bit of a grey area if it seems solicitations outside of the EE are going on. Or it seems item(s) are being campaigned for sale outside of the EE.

In any case, once a "what's it worth" thread has been up for a few days there usually has been enough discussion for the OP to get a ball park idea of what the items are "worth". Then, for example, decide to list in the EE or not. Or pass the info along, if required. Or make an offer to purchase, if that's what's going on, etc.

If while the "what's it worth" thread is up in discussion, the OP then posts item(s) for sale in the EE, then the "what's it worth" thread is also removed.
