What hard to find rimfire would you like to have

A 40x would be an amazing find, but stupidly high prices......

There was a guy at the Norwood Ontario gun show with a 40X for $650.I don't know him but did look at the rifle and thought it was a great price. Just didn't have the money to spend. I thought for sure it would be gone by the end of the show but he left with it. If I had the cash I would have taken it home.
Scott..

The one I want is a complete fantasy. A .17HMR, semi auto, thumbhole stock sniper rifle. It's too bad that no one has made a reliable .17HMR semi anything.

Not fantasy, check out VOLQUARTSEN, they use a 597 receiver and build near custom heavy barrel in 17 rimfire. It costs though, it costs.

A Ruger American Rimfire Carbine in .22 Magnum, handled one in Whitefish Montana the other day and its a wicked little gun!!

^Not rare at all...but on my short list too. :) Kind of ugly, but a nice ugly.

I missed a LB Lee Enfield trainer that was un fired in the original crate with whatever came with it about 8 years ago for $600. Likely never see another one.

I like the trainers too, and would love to own one. Granted, I'd probably hang it on the wall...love it...and within 6 months, wonder why I spent so much $ on it.

As for my own "dream" guns...2 come to mind. One is more of a fantasy than anything else~the American 180. I suspect these guns are partly responsible for the ammo shortage. :) The other is a gun I fondled at a shop in South Carolina probably 10 years ago. A Taurus 62C. Looked like a mini pump shotgun, MAN did I want to buy that thing. A few years back on the EE here, a Taurus 62C in .22WMR popped up, with a case-hardened receiver if memory serves. Saw the ad once, I think it was gone in a matter of hours. Wish I knew who bought that thing...

What hard to find rimfire I'd like to have?

An original, minty Colt Ace or Service Model Ace.

In box, with papers & original hanging tags. :cool:

At a LGS in the States, back a few years ago, I saw a Sig Sauer AR style rifle in .22 LR, all set up with an excellent rail system and everything else I suddenly realised I wanted, the rifle and everything about it was head-and-shoulders above anything else there, or that I'd ever seen in the .22 line. Noted the model number but when I got back here found out that Sig doesn't even try to sell them in Canada. Still interested though. {sob}

More recently, saw a Ruger 10/22 Takedown "Tactical" model, short barrel, treaded muzzle, in a similar store, but already knew they aren't coming into Canada (altho someone here did find me a very similar version online). Really, I have to stay out of those USA gun stores, they only break my heart with all the great unobtainable stuff they have.

I'd like a nylon . Not terribly rare but I think the sellers are asking stupid high prices .
Can I ask what you consider stupid high prices. I have one but am on the fence about parting with it. I do know my wife wants me to get a 12 gauge shotgun so any proceeds from the nylon 66 copy. would go to that. I say copy as it is Brazilian made.

I should have thought to include an Anschutz .22 biathlon rifle, preferably their model 1827F Fortner, Heavy Barrel in my previous list. I like accuracy and they strike me as being ideal for winter hunting small game.

Easy to find one, actually. It's the $3550. + tax that's hard to come by. I CAN afford the shipping.
