What have I got here?

Through a friend, I managed to save a few things from being "donated" to the local police department. Amongst it all were these primers. I have never seen this brand or size before. Any ideas as to what they all about?

They might go well in my display collection.

Correct me if im wrong, I do believe they are percussion caps for a black powder gun.

They are not primers...they are percussion caps...

what kind of gun takes perc. caps like those?

Correct me if I am wrong but percussion caps are a simple copper cup with the appropriate explosive compound on the inside of the cap. They are designed to sit over the nipple go the rifle. These do not appear to be percussion caps. They do look like a primer. However, they are not standard shotgun primers

Primers, probably corrosive, they have an anvil in the base without a recess for a nipple so not looking like any kinda perc cap I have seen to date... What's the diameter under the flange? Around 1/8"-3/16" or more than 1/4"?

Under flange diameter is 6.45mm. outer flange is 8.5 mm...
