What have you done to your Chiappa Little Badger?

I really like the little badger and customized mine with carbon fibre 3D printed parts such as new front sights, foregrip and rear grip. I also machined an adapter to use a skinner peep sight. This thing is way more solid than the oem plastic. Made a knob to allow quick field takedown to two pieces when I need that extra level of compactness.

I need to make a front sight to line up with my new rear site. What material did you use and hows it hold up to heat, is it stronger than the factory plastic front site?

Been working on my second one most of the day.

3d printing parts to customize it quite a bit.

I love the little badgers. Great gun

I used a enclosed front sight design for added durability. The carbon fibre PETG is very strong. You can go glass fibre nylon for even more durability but it’s also more expensive.

Let’s just say I have 22lr muzzle brakes to be tested using that material soon so I do trust it for higher temp service.

mine was junk too, Tried to like it, POI constantly shifting.

That was predictable - the plastic rails are even worse than those on the Kel-Tec PCC, which is notorious for POI shift. Which was why I ordered a nice piece of picatinny rail when I ordered my Little Badger. Bit of drilling and tapping after pulling out the barrel (needed some heat to break the adhesive bond) and the new mount is essentially part of the receiver, bonded with JB Weld steel-filled epoxy and snugged up with 3 10-32 bolts. Zero POI shift in mine now.

I have two in 22lr and two in 17hmr. The one 17hmr has an aluminum pistol grip, hammer extension, and thread protector. The grip is really nice and keeps the gun steady while aiming and pulling the trigger. The thread protector/flash hider is not necessary. Forgive the obnoxious scope on it. I was just messing with some guys. The current scope I have on it is a 1-4x. I'm thinking of adding some extra storage on the butt for it to be a "true backpacker" possibly throw a knife and some other things in it.

Accuracy is better than expected. 0-50 yards it can do under 1/2". 50-100 yards is right around 1-2". My 17's are very ammo temperamental. One likes 15.5gr. The other likes 20gr.

Mad points for creativity. Kinda sick of seeing everyone just wrap em in brown paracord and throwing the 35$ amazon red dot on it. Yours look very cool. Are the files avail or for sale??

I shot one at the range one time, didn't like it at all felt like I was shooting a coat hanger.

but thats the point. its one step higher than a coat hanger that you can just remove and create something that fits you.

x2. garbage. Those who think that the rifle is great simply do not know what they do no know. A minimalist firearm has to be above all things- reliable. For those who still own one, let us know how things are running at say 5- 10 thousand rounds.

they are cheap enuff to be replaced by then.

Not only that, but if one has some halfway decent skills with tools, you couldn't find a much simpler rifle to repair or modify. Everything about it is dead simple and accessible. Something wears out, I'll just rebuild it or replace it. I resolved the issue of the star washer eating away at the pot metal in the hinge right away, after opening and closing the action a couple of dozen times and observing some metal dust accumulating. Easy fix, took a minute. Mounting an aluminum pic rail was easy as well, after heating and popping out the barrel for drilling and tapping some holes. Shortened the stock slightly to bring it in to my eye with the compact scope I chose. Odds and ends beyond that, all making it behave better for my tastes. This stuff isn't hard with a few tools, and with such a cheap rifle there's really very little risk in working on it. Should one be a complete klutz just buy a new one and try again!

Daver pushed me over the edge! Cabellas has free ship for BF and I have a 125$ gift card from last months birthday. 105$ to my door - not shabby. A 4-18 scope is arriving at the same time so I'll throw that on for some ####s and giggles.

Daver, would you share any of your files? Is there a 3D model of the gun around?
