What height of rings to buy?

I will be ordering a Savage bolt action 17HMR from SIR shortly and want to get a set of rings for it at the same time. Will the bolt clear a set of low rings?

Everything just sort of depends when buying rings. It boils down to what feels good for you and if your objective lense clears the barrel.

its a Bushnell 3x9x32 rimfire. I would like to keep it as low as possible.

All things considered, with a 32mm scope you should be able to get low rings to work.

Especially if it's a model with no rear sight. What model is it?

its a 93R17, wood with a heavy barrel, no rear sites. I think the low will work too.
