What holster would you recommend for a P226?

Not to hijack, but does anyone know if a P226 holster will fit a sig mosquito? I recently aquired one uber cheap and am looking for a holster for it.

It won't--not properly anyway. I have both guns. The mosquito is about 90% smaller.

There are some holsters for mosquitos, but they are quite rare. I don't have one yet. It sort-of makes me regret buying the mosquito instead of getting a conversion kit.

Range and screwing around basically ... There is a good chance that I will try my hand at some of those IPSC shoots.

IN that case a solid kydex holster will fit the bill, something from Solely Canadian, bladetech, Raven, or any of the infinite number of other companies doing form fitted kydex. Fobus is crap. They're doable holsters but just don't last and don't have the quality of kydex(Fobus is injection molded plastic).

TDC is spot on.

If you still want safirland, (all I use, and carry at work) go for the ALS versions. All the speed of just kydex with LV 1 retention. I just switched all my SLS holsters to ALS and love it.

google holster ops for your holster needs, if you already have a hanger you can get SLS or ALS holsters for as little as $60.

Do the 511 thumbdrive ones have that suede-ish lining to protect the finish of the handgun.

No it doesn't. Are there any holster out there with suede-ish finsih out there? lol Maype a pimp holster?

Even safariland, fobus, and serpa don't have suede-ish finish in it.

I use a Blackhawk - excellent holster.

Serpa is pretty kick ass, use it at work all the time for my Service P226

Not to beat a dead horse, but there's been plenty of discussion and threads on Serpa holsters. They're pure crap and should be avoided. Better holsters can be had for equal or lesser money.

That's the problem, its all you ever use. Try something well made and get back to us. Blackhawk makes cheap junk and the Serpa is no exception.

Why change, I've put those holsters, through some of the worst environments in the world, from Afghanistan to Africa, not a Saturday afternoon trip to the range, you say its crap, thats fine, theres no doubt that that theres some good holsters out there, for me serpa has proven reliable, thats why I recommended it. If you don't like it, then thats your opinion, but don't bash an opinion given by another member, just because you and your weekend buddies think you know everything about everything.

He is talking about the lining inside the holster against the gun. And yes Safariland does have it.

Well Serpa holsters have been banned by nearly everyone who is anyone in the training community. Not to mention there are more haters than lovers of the Serpa lineup. That's what is known as a clue. There are far better holsters for equal or lesser money.
