Guys I've purchased a LnL AP so I'm going with Hornady die set! On budget shooting supply they have 2 sets one that is a 9mm nitride 3 die set with taper crimp or series 2 fl 3 die titanium? Which one please help they are the same amount of money?

You will want to get the die set that uses a taper. If you do not use a taper crimp and rather a roll crimp you will be required to trim each 9mm case to the same length in order to get the same crimp. Taper crimps are very forgiving i this regard. Also a taper crimp is for a case that headspaces on the case mouth, such as autoloaders and a roll is generally for revolvers.

I am a fan of the hornady dies, however after using the same set in 45ACP I much prefer to have a die set that crimps in a seperate operation from the seating. On the LNL AP it is very frustrating trying to seat the bullet to the right OAL and get the proper amount of crimp in one operation. I have a deluxe redding die set in 40S&W that I much prefer in the progressive press. The crimping operation is flawless and the seating die is easier to set up.

Henry also sells the LEE 4 die set that does the crimping operation seperately.

best of luck,
Evan

I spent some time looking up the answer, but I still can't tell the difference, both are for 9mm/9x21 and both have taper crimp dies.

I'm sure you know about it already but hornady has the free bullets offer with the press (500) and each die set (100).
