Well, if you are considering a Savage budget stainless hunting rifle, which is light to carry, functional.....and accurate then the stainless axis will set you back a relative small amount of coin so you can spend the rest of your budget on a really good scope. Go for the accutrigger model as an upgrade or plan to use a timney drop in trigger to agument the base line version. Future upgrades like wood stocks are possible through boyds. If you want a better version then the Model 10 stainless will run you within your budget + scope. My 2C.....

Of those 3 I'd go with the tikka. I just sold my t3 in 308. It was light, accurate and had one of the smoothest bolts I've had on a rifle. If Tikka made a rifle in 257 weatherby it would have been my new deer gun, but since they don't I went with a Vanguard S2. If you expand your options more I'd take a look at a Winchester model 70 featherweight. Beautiful guns.
Well as a first choice I would pick up a Winchester M70 FTW in 270 Win. but given only the choices above I like the Tikka best out of the three,
