What hunting gear have you bought that was a total waste of funds?

A Remington .

Easy on the Remington there fella, they are not all bad. That said, I have used one of those remington 770's...lol ya that was a waste of time and money. All though my Remington 783 has been a great investment thus far!

Bought this pair of boots on sale for about $70. Goddamn sole practically came off first trip into the bush. Thought I was going to lose some toes for sure.

I've had quite a few packs have zippers torn out or all the interior dividers ripped out. I'm shopping around and saving pennies for my first "good" hunting pack now. I know "buy once cry once" but damn, 800 bucks is a tough pill to swallow when it's not a rifle.

A Mastercraft (crap) Battery Powered Reciprocating Saw. Came with two 18V batteries that did not/do not last cutting through two moose quarters. Fully charged, batteries do not last. Especially when cool (hunting weather).

Plastic Handled Gut Hook, snapped after 3/4 of an inch.

i'd check the spec on the batteries. My 1.5a batteries that came with my Milwaukee tools are useless. I've since bought the 5a and it's amazing.

I'll check the name on my pack. I've had it for about 15 years now. While it hasnt been hunted with for most of that time, it's been hiked and camped with 200+ times since I've got it (originally got it as a teenager for Scouts)... not sure exactly what it's worth but certainly nowhere near $800...

A couple dozen pairs of 60-80 dollar waders as a person would have to be crazy to buy a decent pair that will last many seasons. At least as many faulty cheap duck calls because buying a good one would be much too cost effective.

This! Good grief, what was I thinking... Kids use them as some sort of Klingon fighting sticks now.

I would appreciate it. Maybe I'm drinking the marketing cool aid, but I've been looking at kuiu, exo, stone glacier, ect.

try a millsurp one, much much cheaper and built to last a deployment.

The $7 million they took from the licence fund to pay OPP overtime in Caledonia among other things says different. The fact is CO's don't even have funds to put gas in their trucks and that comes from the horses mouth that rides a desk daily rather than enforcement. My last complaint to the MNR got a response 11 months after the fact and 5 months past the limitations for charges. I have many more examples of Liberal theft if you would like!!

Incorrect... Hunting and fishing license money no longer goes to general revenue....
