What if I am not a meat hunter? What do I do with the deer?

I forgot to add that,

Varmints are a different story if the are causing destruction of your property or putting your personal property and animals in danger ie. groundhog holes.

Warren, trust me when I say it;s just about the most fun you can have with your pants on

Oh hells dude, i spent about 10 years of my youth dusting them by the cartload. :) almost always used an old single shot cooey .22 my grandad had. We still have it. :)

It's a tonne of fun and a good way to sharpen skills. There is NOTHING wrong with enjoying your kill or the experience of hunting.

I just feel the video glorifies the violence of the kill, not the skill or the hunt or the ethics or the cameraderie, or the traditions etc etc. Mind you, i've only watched bits and peices. (which seems to be pretty much what the movie is about - blowing things into bits and peices :) )

Like i said - not for me. But that's not a comment on gopher hunting.

Umm your post has nothing to do with anything on this thread. Why would you post that? Ignornace is bliss!
Because the one I had before I edited it didn't apply because it was based only on the first page of discussion, I didn't know there were another 2 pages. So if you must know, before I edited it, I was trying to make it clear what everyone was saying, because you didn't seem to get it, at all. Period. :)

Thats why I said ignorance is bliss at the end because I saw it was edited.

BTW how does everybody see 14 pages when I only see 3 pages of responses?

This guy does not like deer meat

Yup It's a touchy subject. I think thats why it's getting a whole bunch of attention

Who cares whether he likes deer meat or not? LOL The point is that if he's not going to take the meat he shouldn't hunt at all. If he does hunt, then donate the meat!

That brings up the subject of:
Do you really care about the meat, or is it more to the point that you want a whole bunch of attention ???:p

Either way, may I repectfully suggest that you do whatever makes you feel good and report back to the 'CGN' forum as to how you enjoyed your hunting trip, eating the meat or NOT-----Who cares,-----just enjoy the hunting experience :) :)

A lot of people get a bad taste for deer, because a lot of people do a miserable friggin job of field dressing it.

Cereal If you want to hunt deer I suggest you have a learning curve to go through: Learn to hunt deer/learn to field dress it .

Then you have the option of giving it away. No one is going to want piss smelling, hair oil, digestive juice tasting gift.

As for transport: Hang your deer in a tree/ skin it/ clean it like it was your mom's kitchen.

Remove back legs below the knee (they come off with no sawing just cut the tentons and pop.

Remove the rump with both legs. Again no sawing the vertebrate will come apart easily.

Remove the front legs below the knee, again no sawing just a knife.

Now remove the front legs. they come very easy just pull them away from the body and you will see. Just meat holding them.

Remove the head.

wrap your hunks in bed sheet and lay em on a tarp in your trunk.

Keep it all clean. A hair laying on the meat will be tasted by the eater!!!

If you are new to hunting and have never "trophy hunted" before I bet you don't get one anyway!

I mean you are'nt going to shoot a spike or fork, or doe or small mature deer are you?! I would appreciate it if you left those for me and the other meat eaters.

Then bang your wife/gf hard on the kitchen table and then make her cook dinner...

Atta'boy Monty and bang her HAAARD ... ;)

Thanks for askin'. No, I didn't build it, although I've taught the meaning and significance of the Inukshuk to my kids. My avatar is actually the cover art for a Rush album. I'm a big Rush fan for 30 years! ;)

david doyle, well said, but I think as long as the kid goes out with a vet who will take it off his hands, no probs!

I commend cereal83 for being honest about his intentions. Better than a poacher, yes? ;)

Finally, why is this thread still alive, anyway? Dude wants to hunt but doesn't want to chow down but will make the necessary arrangements to make sure the meat is eaten.

What is the f'n problem???

Jebus!
