What IPSC class would a HK Mark23 be in ?

I think it would be a production gun, unless it's trigger pull was less that 5 lbs.

I could be wrong.

Nope, specifically not allowed in Production Division: http://www.ipsc.org/proddiv.php

Further, it's not a revolver, it's too big for the IPSC 'Box', so that only leaves........ Open!

It is an OPen division gun....although at a significant disadvantage. It is not on the production list of approved guns, and it does not fit in the standard division box.

what appeals to me about the Mark23 is the testing and reliability,...even under extreme conditions. ( and I guess most HK's)...I know of a local shooter who used one in Open,....and it fed everything...including I believe wadcutter .45 rounds. There are very few firearms I would subject to such harsh conditions and expect to still function.

I'll give HK credit for the MK 23 being as good as it is given the absolutely ridiculous requirements they had to build it too.
