there is an article on the internet about the marine magnum and their were some issues with the gun . i do not remember the exact details but i would do a search and see what comes up . as for cylinder choke if you play around with different loads you may be pleasantly surprised at the pattern from a particular gun .every barrel is different even on the same model of gun . it is one of the mystery's of shotguns. have fun whatever you decide .
