What is a fair price for 38 special Brass

I came by a whole pile of once fired 38 special brass and I am just wondering what a fair would be for both parties? Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Depends on whether it is once or multi fired, same or mixed headstamps, brass or nickel plated. Several months ago I bought 1000 once fired all Federal nickel plated cases from a CGN seller for $60 shipped which I thought was pretty fair. I've seen it for over $100/1000 which I thought was grossly overpriced to $45/1000 for mixed headstamp multi fired. Somewhere in the middle is probably a decent deal for both parties.

Around here guys were bringing boxes of .38 brass down to our club and giving it away.

The last "bulk buy" of .38 sp I made was an 8 lb ice cream tub full to the top, all nic. plated range pick-up for $50. I think I have about 3500 pieces in the "in regular use rotation" and 8-9 thou still in the tub to last me and the wife for a good while yet.

same headstamp 1F = $65-$75 per 1000
