What is a Goat?

I'd like to know how someone who just joined found out about the goat so quick?

I don't post too much, but I read the forums... A LOT.
This place is a wealth of knowledge and for a beginner like myself, 1 hour on here can save me 4 hours worth of 'googling' for answers.

Someone on another thread said something about hypothetically taking out guard dogs and 'goats' with a .22.
Someone also said something on another thread about being owed a 'goat'.

Thanks for all the good answers guys, I now have a vague idea of what a goat is.

I get "goats" and "fudds" but since I have a fairly large collection of candles on my birthday cake, and I think Mg-42's and un-neutered M-14's should be allowed everywhere, including in my rifle rack in the back window of my pick-up, I consider myself a fudd for different reasons.

I'm a fudd because I believe in the above, and because I cannot believe all the casual acceptance demonstrated on this forum by those who seemingly support the B.S. spouted by gun controll advocates. Just look at the straw polls initiated by CGN'ers asking if CCW, or prohibs, or some other normal human right should be "allowed." Frequently, fully 50% of the CGN respondents support some form of limitation of citizens with no record of violent behaviour. (As in a PAL, or the old FAC, or a special course, or whatever.) As a fudd, I find that repugnant.

Lots more CGN'ers advocate throwing the book at, and the cell key away, for some one who makes a simple administative mistake in complying with our byzantine gun laws.

Really, we need some perjorative stronger than FNG to label the unthinking. Lenin had a name for them. "Useful idiots." Maybe we could contract that to "useful?" Can't be calling folks idiots if we want to remain respectful, now can we?
