I'm looking for an exceptionally durable scope for an M-305. Something that can take drops, falls, and recoil, and that is well made. I know some forum members have in the past suggested the best discount scope. That is good, but I am looking for the best rugged scope. Something like those rubber-armoured scopes Marstar sells (any reviews on those?) or the Elcan scope, made for a .308 and with excellent glass. Could anyone make some reccommendations?

Remember the age old saying, "You get what you pay for ?" Heed that advice....

If you are expecting a very rough ride for the the M14, I would feel comfortable with an ELCAN using .308 ballistics, they are around. Better yet, I just sold one last September to a CGN member in Manitoba.

Cheers,
Barney

IOR tactical - the ones calibrated for 308
Aimpoint
Zeiss Conquest- with mildot

from here on.... things get really expensive..... Even if your Hensholdt , Smidt&Bender or Unertl can take all the blows you throw at them, I'm have a big doubt you'll even want to scratch them....

Depending on the type of mount, An Elcan will probably sit too high on an M14/M305/M1A.

Depending on your application, you could look at the following:

-Leupold M/RT line of scopes.Come in 3x - 9X, and 1.5X - 5X.I have the 1.5 - 5X M/RT and it is a NICE scope for service rifle.These are in the $1200.00 to $1400.00 range.

-Nightforce NXS line
-Bushnell 3200 10X mildot scope (the best bang for your buck)
-S&B 1-4X Short Dot (PRICEY!!!!!)
-U.S. Optics

There are others, but these are the only ones I would consider looking at.

SKBY.

I agree with skullboy. If you are concerned about cost, the Bushnell 3200 10X milldot scope is the best bang for your $$. Be prepared to chuck some change if you want some sniper grade glass.

i have the bush 10x mildot, its a great scope, esecially for the price. im not sure if i would want to be super rough with it though and that seems to be the point in question. bushnell's warentee policy would not be good for someone wanting to beat their equipment.
