what is a good inexpensive .22 pistol?

I have a Ruger 22/45 MK III, and while I love the gun and it sells for a very reasonable price. It takes a lot of practice to disassemble/reassemble all because of the safety modifications that they made on the MKIII series.

Once you get use to it it's a breeze, but the first few times are awful, the
Ruger instructional video is indispensable, just a warning on this choice.

Either you got a bad one, you have abnormally high expectations or it's you haha. Mine shoots into a golfball sized group at around 10 yards and i'm not the greatest shot. I love my little crappy norc for new shooters too. The only down side is the grip feels like it was sized for the lollipop guild.

That sounds like some good grouping, must be me :D

ive owned the Ruger mk2 for quite a few years and it shoots amazingly well with all kinds of ammo. This .22 would be my first pick.

Recently ive had the chance to shoot the Browning Buckmark, i will say that this .22 feels awesome with the wood grips. Very smooth and reliable.

I would give the edge to the Ruger for accuracy, but i will also say ive never had to take the Browning apart for cleaning, and honestly the Ruger is a PITA.

Make it a full meal deal....get a Sig Sauer that is interchangeable with their .22 conversion kits....so you can both use it.....

Wow not one other person shoots a S&W 22a and i think it is easyer to take down than the Neos

I have a S&W 22A. It's well priced, a nice shooter, accurate and easy to take down and clean, BUT it has a large grip. I'd have her try one before buying it for a lady.
