What is best .22 Pistol? Browning medalist, S&W 41, Ruger r-22, Ruger mark IV, Buckma

The Browning Medalist is no longer parts-supported by the manufacturer. I have obtained some parts from Western Gun Parts, but would advise buying a pistol in current production.

I am a little biased to the Perfect 10" Ruger MKii's . Yes, they came from the factory with 10" barrels, and yes, there are 5 of them :)

LOL did you buy these all at once or over time?

I have found some through referral. This took 7 years to collect. I have paid between 4-1200.00 for each gun, and well worth it. My 10" Brownings and Anschutz's , Drulov's, Contenders really round out the collection. I know where another KM10 and KMK10 live, but the owners of said guns will not sell for any price.

Ridiculously accurate. You can call every shot. And they eat cheap stuff as well as expensive stuff without a hiccup

Browning Medalist and Hi-Standard Super Citation are about tied, with the S&W 41 coming next, IMO. Had them all, so it comes down to personal preference.

Best for what purpose? Of those listed I'm partial to the S&W 41, however it doesn't stack up to modern competition pistols. That said, competition pistols do not generally make enjoyable fun guns in my experience.

"Sadly Gilbert the Pardini is sold. It was indeed a very sweet shooter."

Why did you sell it? If I may ask?

Initially bought the pistol with competition in mind but sadly it never materialized. Time gets limited as it goes by, you know how it goes. While it was indeed a sweet shooter, I found my S&W M41 and HS The Victor just as accurate maybe even a bit more at longer distances.

The fact that from the start I prefer the two handed stance and that both S&W and HS will feed CCI SV just fine with nearly the same level of accuracy while the Pardini had to be fed with a strict diet of premium ammo without giving me enough accuracy to justify the extra cost made it easier to let it go.

I can't remember the last time I shot two handed.
Maybe 10 years ago when I did the Black Badge course.
Before arthritis hit my back, knees and feet. Even fire friends S&W 460 and 500 mag one handed.
No NRA or ISSF style shoots or clubs near you?
My Pardini and Walther GSP are in the no sell category, along with the S&W M52 and Sig 210s.
My time at the range is eaten by being an unpaid Range Officer twice a week.

I hear ya, I shot two handed nearly everyday for the past 15+ yrs, it's a nasty habit I know but being taught that way from my early age (when I couldn't hold a handgun one handed) is sadly how I shoot best.

I also shoot my P210's and Lugers from both one and two handed stance, still am more accurate using two hands when the pace is up a notch.
