What is everyone's favorite reticle for a hunting scope.

For most of my rifles, the duplex is all I need. In almost 40 years of hunting, my average shot distance on game is just 137 yards.
For those rifles where I can reach out further if needed, I really like the B&C.

I Also prefer the standard duplex for the vast majority of my hunting , especially since the advent of laser range finders . If I don't have time to range a critter it means I am well within my MPBR. If I do, I know exactly where I need to be to kill that animal with one clean shot

A few years ago a relative of mine bought a BLR in .308 from a reputable dealer and topped it off with a cheap Bushnell that had a duplex with extra elevation lines. He had actually paid for ammunition to have it sighted for 100 yards. We took it back to my 200 yard range to try it and he put the next lower set of crosshairs on the target as the sales rep had told him these were for 200 yards. Three shots and never touched the paper. We went down and looked and it appeared all shots missed the 5 foot high backstop. There was also a big hill so all was good. I looked through his scope and the difference between the lines at 200 yards was over 2 feet of field of view. He asked then what was the purpose of the other lines and I said to sell him on the scope and to never use them again unless it was for range estimation on a golf course.

You have to use a subtension reticle at the correct magnification; which is usually the highest power..
