The biggest difference I see is that IDPA is much more "real". I know we can't carry concealed in Canada but if we were allowed IDPA trained shooters would be much more prepared for a nasty situation than IPSC shooters. .

So you are saying that IDPA prepares its shooters kill in a gunfight better than IPSC. Ok I for one can accept that because all I ever see IPSC promoting is fast, safe gunhandling skills and marksmenship.

idpa is reality based ............ipsc is shoot-em up fast ..........both need speed and accuracy but idpa doesnt seem to require an arms race with deep pockets to win.............
AND.........
then again i believe the ONLY reason to be ableto shoot a hangun well, is so that you can SURVIVE long enough to get back to the RIFLE YOU SHOULD HAVE GRABBED IN THE 1ST PLACE .

they are both GAMES. The top shooters in either sport are either sponsored or are shooting the best pistols money can buy.
I have only participated in IPSC,...a little PPC, and some rag-tag IDPA'ish matches. You don't need an expensive pistol, holster and mag pouches to be competitive,...but you should practice and know the rules.
Consider ANY sport,...you are going to spend money. Not because it will make you a better shooter,...but because you will want to buy what makes you happy. A happy shooter is a good shooter....LOL

Why would you make such a dumbass statement about someone else's shooting sport?

To the grass-eaters, aren't we all preparing to kill people by taking handguns to the range, or even owning them in the first place?

This mindset is the real reason we keep losing more of our rights every year.
