What is PING?

m14 FH acts like a tuning fork so pings after firing, poor sound can mean cracked I believe...or the M1 Garand enbloc being slapped as it leaves the rifle empty in reference to above.

Its when the flash hider acts like a tuning fork and produces a ringing sound. It sort of goes hand in hand with a well fitting flash hider. I doubt it really has much to do with accuracy. But it sounds awesome. Enough so to prevent me from changing to a muzzle brake.

if you have the SWING

At the top of the Main Battle Rifle forum are the FAQ sticky posts. Search for my YouTube video by my creative producer Funker Tactical. Search for M14 University

Whenever I fire my M1A, you will hear the PING sound from the flash suppressor that's firmly installed on the barrel along with a very tight fitting gas cylinder assembly. True evidence of a tuned M14.

Life is good. Tune yer M14 rifles so that they ping nicely, other muzzle brakes won't give you that ping. Yuk yuk yuk.

Cheers and keep helping them noobs :)

"Ping" 00111100 (are you there??) "Ping" *back* 11000011 (yes I am I can hear you x(#%$\-#%$)) and that is a very simple just of what is said.

Never noticed a 'ping' when shooting my evil Winchester. Maybe an M305/M1A thing.
The first ping with a computer is it saying "Here I am." Not, "Are you there?"
If anybody tells you the bad guys knew when your M1 Rifle is empty by the PING!!!! of the clip ejecting, it's nonsense.
