I went up and cleaned up our range today and collected up a bunch of brass I will never use.
What would be a fair price to charge people for used brass?
I have looked online and new runs from 65 cents and up so 50 cents a shell doesn't seem out of line right?
All it cost me was a couple hours of my time.

It greatly depends on what cartridge(s) it is. Personally the most I would ever pay for once fired misc headstamp brass would be about .20 a cartridge and even that would be high and out of desperation.

Difference between new and range brass is you know what's been done with new and how many times its been reloaded ;)

I manage to pay $20-$25 for 100 "once fired" 30-06 brass.

Usually I pick up my own brass to reload unless it is getting worn out in which case I
will leave it.
Some people who do not reload will leave once fired brass. So range brass can be a real
mixture of good & bad and I would not buy it.

Its better sorted by at least caliber. Also, make sure its all Boxxer primed. Would hate to have paid money for X amount of say .308 brass only to find out its got a lot of brass cased Berden primed cases in the lot.

How much brass are we talking here, if its a few hundred could make you a few bucks. If its only a few dozen might not be worth your time. Also consider trading it for brass you reload, if you do reload that is.

I just bought 2,100 once-fired 5.56's for $125. It was stored wet in plastic barrels, it was more blue than yellow. Fortunately I've got a Thumler, and somebody to split the batch with; I'll never use 2,100 5.56 empties by myself. But the condition it's in, I feel majorly ripped-off

i get 50.00per 1000 for my 9mm,,,but i sort it by headstamp and polish it and inspect it so there are like new,,,a lot of trouble,,but if you want to sell easy,,it's the best thing to do,,40 and 45 is obviously a bit more than that...i process over 40,000 rounds or more like that every year,,you can sell some at gun shows too,,

I have actually talked to some folks at our club and there are a bunch that want to reload. They are going to buy the appropriate dies and bullets and we are starting a reloading co-op.
I am supplying the press then everyone else is supplying powder, primers and bullets and away we go.
Fortunately we have a couple guys that have reloaded for years so are going to give us "classes".
I just don't know who to give the .303 British to.
