Hello everybody,

I bought a 22 magnum today. I bought it for 2 reasons. It was different then anything I have ever seen. And I bought it from a trusted family friend who is a gun buyer/seller/trader horse trader. Its a heavy barrel, 3/4 length beach wood? Maybe maple?? with adjustable irons and trigger. It was drilled and tapped by Sam Adams in Nova Scotia for a side mount long eye relief scope. Its marked on the side " Femaru ES szerszamgepgyar N.V. " has a marking and is also marked 22 mag.

rear sight looks like military and the side mount for a Cooey 60 or rather part of one. and eye relief is surprising. looks like a parts rifle from Hungary and a scope mounted wrong so it is a curiosity that someone may buy. The stamped "22 mag is not even level as it would certainly be for a factory made rifle. Possibly a rebore from a .22 short or l/r caliber. and i do not think it is normal for a barrel to be t&d for a sidemount rather than the left side of the action . but stranger things have happened to a bubba rifle.
 
I've not seen one of these gems before.

The company that made this became FEG in 1975. They were called Femaru ES szerszamgepgyar N.V.from '47 to '75 (you can an idea of your rifles date). You can also rest easy, as they did build quality arms.

I've not seen the n3 (ish) mounts used for long eye releif, or as mentioned mounted on the right. Shouldn't matter too much, and since you have original sights still mounted, you don't even have to use the optics.

Likely re-bored to .22wmr later in it's life, having started as a "trainer" in .22lr

It does look like the same minus the front sight and stock. Maybe the barrel? Hard to tell. The one on RFC looks slightly tapered?

Either way I am happy. Walked off 100 yards today and hit a pop can on edge.

Wonder if anybody can point me in a $$ direction.

I also have a option of 750 rounds @ $125.

Either way I am happy. Walked off 100 yards today and hit a pop can on edge.

Wonder if anybody can point me in a $$ direction.

Value? That's a tricky one. If you consider it's cost as a single shot rifle, add the reaming to .22wmr (if that happened), the D&T for scope mount, the mount, and a long eye relief scope, that could be a pricey little gem. Cost prohibitive to make today... I'm not sure enough about the base rifle to guess if it's been "devalued" for those efforts. I think it'd be cool to own, and would guess there may not be another quite like it. You know what you have invested. You have shot it. Do you feel ripped off?

750 @ $125 is a pretty good buy for .22wmr (75 for 12.50 which is less than I spent on the last 50rd box I bought), but it also depends on what it is.
 
I have a similar looking single shot marked Lampagyar Budapest in .22 Long Rifle with diopter sights, just like my TOZ-12. It is superbly accurate rifle and shoots very tight groups at 50 yards. I won't expect any difference from your rifle!
 
I'm not sure if its a pistol stop. But it is long eye relief like a pistol scope.

No I don't feel ripped off. I purchased it figuring it was a good deal for what i thought.

And no shipping on ammo. 12 minute drive lol.
 
Nice looking gun!

I suspect it's produced by the same Hungarian manufacturer as the FEG handgun I own which is a HiPower clone.
