Hi guys, What is the barrel life of Norinco/dominion arms CQ-A? And how can you tell?

And if in the end the barrel worn out, what part can you savage from the worn out upper? I assume you can still savage everything beside barrel and gas system.

Thanks!!!!

The bad thing about Rod's video is that he assumes the entire upper is done (I normally like his videos but he didn't know enough at the time he made it). OP, you are correct that you can just swap out the barrel and still have a decent upper (unless you like spending money). Every part can be salvaged depending on how it is individually worn. No problems firing? Then leave the BCG and the firing pin alone. Even the gas system I don't see why you have to swap unless there have been problems, though it is cheap enough to do so or if you get a different length barrel.

You should be good for a lot more than 12k rounds... I would think 20k plus before the throat starts to open up...

Longshot or Gunnerlove care to chime in?

As Keith says, you can address a shot out barrel by replacing the barrel itself. Pretty easy job if you have the correct tools.

When new my Stag would shoot 10rnds (handloaded 69gr ammo) into 1.125" at 100m. After 22k rounds, it was still a solid 2 MOA rifle (with the ocassional crazy flier) and .184" of bullet jump.
