Hi all,

I recently bought a new pistol case. It has pluck and pull foam inserts. I have plucked out the openings for my pistols (and their trigger locks), but when I pull the pistols out, the foam tends to come with it.

I am planning on gluing the foam down so it stays in place better.

I was thinking of using hot glue, but I wanted to see if anyone had a better recommendation.

Does anyone have experience gluing foam?

Thanks in advance.

I know this is going to sound like a dumb answer but the answer is "foam glue", seriously.

PL makes some, it's used for putting the acoustic foam stuff like in the gun cases up on walls for soundproofing. I think they might call it "acoustic foam panel adhesive" or something like that

you have to be careful, a lot of glues will melt the stuff.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I knew that the collective wisdom of CGN wouldn't let me down. I think I will go with the spray adhesive, 3M Super 77.

Canmic, you are right, that should have been obvious, but I have never glued foam before, so I didn't realize there was a type of glue solely for foam. Like you, I had also heard that some types of glue will damage foam, so I didn't want to use the wrong type.

I found a empty umarex beretta pistol case at cabellas, the base foam and the cutout foam was stuck together with clear doubled sided tape.

I'd use some plasti-dip to coat the pick n pluck foam. Just go light coats as the aerosol might eat away foam. This will keep everything together and extend life of foam as it won't try to separate from top down. Plus it hides the tiny foam squares.
