What Is the best Inch Pound Torque Wrench that will read below 10 in-lbs?

I've no experience with this one, but it's in the Brownells catalog:

SEEKONK PRECISION TOOLS - 1 TO 75 INCH POUND VARIABLE TORQUE WRENCH
<https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/general-gunsmith-tools/wrenches/general-wrenches/1-to-75-inch-pound-variable-torque-wrench-prod18221.aspx>

In the inch pounds range, CDI, a Snap-on company, makes a variety of good products.

The CDI 401SM torque driver goes from 5 to 40 inch pounds. The CDI 151SM goes from 3 to 15 inch pounds.
They are very good but not inexpensive.

What is the best inch pound torque wrench to buy that can read below 10 in-lbs?

Most of them seem to start at 10 in-lbs, or higher.

10 inch pounds is quite low... Just curious what size of thread/application would require a lower setting? Nothing in firearms I think...

I have a smaller inch lb torque wrench that I use when the wheeler fat driver won’t do it, mainly for values over the fat wrench’s max. Have an action screw that is 60 inch pounds, I don’t remember how low it goes but I use a 1/4” Torx socket that I pushed out the torx bit and swap in whatever driver I need.

Use the Wheeler @ 10 and when it starts to 'give' - stop b4 it cliks.
'... I'm NOT what you call a professional ...' - ha.

It makes you wonder what some of us did 40 - 50 - 60 years ago... were all the screws loose because there were no torque wrenches being used...? When good and tight sufficed.

That may be, but some of us are more strong than smart (speaking of myself [sigh] broke a fiskars axe once, broke large hedge shears yesterday - just squeezed them too hard, snapped the handle [sigh]) - _my_ good and tight may be too tight... :(

Very informative thread for someone like me! Thanks!

I've got a 1/4 snap-on digital torque wrench that cost me about $800.00 with tax but it only starts a 12 in/lbs and goes to 240 in/lbs.

Mostly I just use my Wheeler $80.00 torque wrench for anything gun related though.

When Men were Men and Slot Heads were Buggered. As they should be.

Got a buddy that used to think like that, iirc he blew up three motorcycle engines on his vintage race bike because tight enough was “good enough”. We used to call it the Greek torque wrench lol.

I was referring to firearms... nothing was torqued way back when... Usually Weaver rings tightened so tight they distorted aluminum tubes... marked up pretty well anything they were used on...
