What is the best inexpensive semi auto shotgun

I'm in the same boat (looking for a cheap semi) I have my eye on the Rem 11-87, thoughts ? Hey pbonura where did you find that deal ?

Thanks gunsaholic dose it have problems cycling different loads, light loads inpaticular as I hear semis tend to run into this problem ?

There are many reports of trouble cycling light target loads out of the box! In fact there is a thread right now on the subject.

Lots of semi's do.

Never an issue with my 930 though. ;)

Reliability and semi-autos seldom go together...especially when light loads are used! They have come a long ways over the years but they still fail on a regular basis despite what many want you to believe!

As much as I hate them, the old Beretta A300, A301, A302, A303 shotguns are probably what you should look for. These shotguns are quite possibly the most reliable semi-autos ever built and one of the very few that don't need to be cleaned every 200rds to maintain that reliability. A very good to near mint example will sell for about the same price as a brand new "cheap" semi-auto.

we just bought a pair of these for Geese season. After break in these guns are mint. 100 high brass or so down the pipe and after that it'll cycle trap load no problems. We got the camo Max 4 at SAIL for 639, synthetic is 499 and I think wood is 559. It has EXTENDED screw in chokes with the gun, swivel studs built in and does up to 3.5", hard to beat the bang for your buck, priced right IMO. SAIL has a price match so if anyone has the gun cheaper they will match it.

Own 2 (one still brand new) never fail never jam.

Few years back someone in Italy tested the MP153 firing 50,000 non stop ( over a period of 5 days period by several shooter) no mechanical failure:eek:
