What is the best power of scope for a 10/22 carbine

Probably something in the 2-7x32, 3-9x40 or 4-12x40 flavor. Depends on the range you plan on shooting and lighting conditions.

My 10/22 wears a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 and paid around $120 for it. Definately are better scopes around but for a grouse / plinker it works well for me.

just make sure you're getting one that is spec'd for rimfire- most 22 scopes are set to be parallax free at 50 yards. most cf scopes are 100- my gopher gun wears a 2x7 x20 bushnell, and my target wears a 6x18 x40 bushnell- different jobs-

Buddy of mine just put a red-dot on his, I must say it is awesome fun to shoot that thing. Hopefully have one of my own this summer.

I put an aimpoint comp m4 on one for a bit, it was simply the most fun I ever had with the gun and think it ( a good red dot) may be the best optic for the 10/22 leave the magnification optics for the bolts.
