I am looking for a recoil reducing stock or pad and am after the one that will reduce the most recoil I can get. I am wanting to try it on my turkey special Mossberg 835. Are there stocks available for this gun or only pads and which would be the best?

I'm not sure how the stock pad is on the 835's but I know the one they put on the maverick 88 might as well be a hockey puck! I replaced mine with the limbsaver pad! Was like night and day! I'm sure they probably have one for the 835's. Good luck.

I have a 5.5lb 12 gauge O/U that I shoot 1 1/4 oz field loads with and it has a 1" Old English decelerator pad that keeps recoil manageable. You can get recoil reducers either with mercury or spring loaded that are said to help but I have no experience with them.

recoil pad

I mostly use Kick-EEZ or a decelerator...............HOWEVER, the most important thing people need to realize is that they SHOULD NOT put a mushy, super-soft recoil pad on anything as a solution to reduce recoil. The soft pad will cause any gun to jump around a lot more and beat you up.........if you have to error go firmer........Kick-EEZ makes various pads to fit almost anything.

I put a Limbsaver on my Nova and now when putting 3 1/2" magnum turkey loads through it no longer kill my shoulder.

It worked so well I got one off the EE for my Savage 30-06. The Nova and the Savage were both made to fit. Each one fits well and was a 5 minute install if that.
