Yes, I read the article years ago, thanks.If you bother to read the article, it explained why he chose not to use a scope. And I didn't think AI AW was available to him at the time.
Echoing others in this thread, if we look at "best" based purely on actual combat performance, the Mosin Nagant wins hands down. No other sniping weapons system has served with greater success in arctic climates and combat scenarios than the good old Mosin Nagant series of rifles. Is it the best tool for the job? Perhaps not. But skill and determination make up for it's short comings.

This is from Snipers Hide, AI AW vs SAKO TRG, it's obvious both are designed for all weather conditions.... the TRG is still available, the new AI AT/AX 308 is basically the same as AW 308 with different chassis, AX338 is a improvement over AWM338.
