What is the best tools kit for AR-15?

Looks pretty "complete"....but missing a punch/roll pin starter set and small hammer.
I don't use half that stuff though. DPMS multi-tool ($30) and some nylon vice blocks for the upper ($40). Built several guns just with that and ordinary shop tools.

Depends what your idea of bare minimum is.

I picked up what I feel is the minimum
tapco multi tool off amazon
Roll pin punched (6 pack from brownelles)
2lb tack hammer
Torque wrench up to 80f/lb
Assorted packs of allen keys
2 2x2x4" pieces of closed grain hardwood with a dato on one side of each to fit the bench vice jaws/ reversed used as a barrel clamp.

Yeah, I would recommend this route ... I own this kit, and in my opinion, it isn't worth the money.

For many of you a really inexpensive piece of equipment all AR owners should have, a pair of chopsticks. Yes it works for jams, getting the pins out and BCG disassembly. Of course an unused 5.56 cartridge works well too..

I just built 2x AR's using only the following:

upper receiver clam shell & AR15 armorers wrench
bench vise
torque wrench
hammer (if you are coordinated even a framing hammer will do)
nail set used as punch (I really want a proper set of punches)
flattened finishing nail (used as small punch)

You can start a roll pin by aligning it with end of a nail set, and connecting the 2x with a small piece of tape which holds it straight while you start it, then remove the tape and tap in it.

That said, I have a long list of tools I want still.....

The kit is bit of a overkill.
A solid bench vise, pair of needle nose pliers, a light hammer, a good set of the vise blocks, a DPMS AR wrench, a set roll pin starter, a set of roll pin punch and a good torque wrench, should be good for all your AR needs.
