what is the best value 9mm pistol out there?

I would consider SAM, as I do like some of their models...but their website is gone and checking their Facebook page, no recent activity...not since October 2015 it seems.

really thinking hard on the CZ P-09 tho. :)
 
Yep. My wife took her Black Badge with a Ruger SR9. Nice gun, shoots and handles well with ambi controls, important for a southpaw. Then I let her shoot one of my .45 1911's - now she owns three of those!
A friend gave her a tutorial on his CZ Shadow and now she has one of those and the SR9 is on the block. I do like the Shadow, even tho' I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Browning Hi-Power fan thanks to the Army and years of IPSC shooting with a pair of them. Pains me to admit that I think the Shadow is a superior gun.

My pick as well, have one, not as good as my CZ, but I really like it and very impressed with the build quality of this as a sub $500.00 gun.
 
so, I think I'm going with the CZ P-09.

can anyone advise what night sights I should consider?

as I mentioned previously (perhaps in another thread, tho), I have bad eyesight and our range faces west, so when shooting late into the day we get glare from the sun and I hope night sights will help me acquire the target better. :)

+1 It took a good gun as a model and made improvements with the CZ to make it even better.
 
CZ75 SP01 Shadow, I've got several guns now including HK P30L, SIG P226 MK25 and the CZ is by far the best feeling, solid handgun of the bunch. And the CZ is hundreds of dollars less than the other I've bought.
It comes with a great case and 3 magazines. the others you're likely only to get 2.

The trigger on the CZ blows the other away.

well, I'm only plinking...no interest/desire for competition, so I don't need anything 'match' grade...at least, not yet.

this would be my first personal 9mm. I've shot my friends G17 g4 a lot and his Girsan Regard's, which I didn't really care for.

with my smaller hands, I do find myself favoring lighter guns.

I find my Ruger MKIII Target 5" barrel to be unwieldy...but at the same time, do enjoy my 22/45 Lite. :)
 
I definitely agree BUT! Finding magazines for it is like looking for unicorns. Also the trigger is a little heavy but I definitely think it is one of the best bang for the buck guns out there.
 
Pretty hard to buy a lemon these days.

Best answer is "whatever you can get the best deal on".

Set a budget, and get whatever is within that budget, that should be outside of it. If that makes sense.
 
If size is a real issue...see if you can try a Cz75 pre-b, or combat...pretty sure you would love it...a couple on ee right now around 500$...now that's value...

One more vote for the Girsan Regard/Yavuz 16. I'm very impressed with mine.

I also have to say go with the Girsan. Bought one two weeks ago as my first handgun (clearly im no expert but...)and am very impressed with the finish, feel and overall quality of the gun. No imperfections image wise and it functions smoothly as well. I have only put 150 rounds of cheap remanufactured ammo but have had zero issues so far. I have read countless reviews of people who have fired 1000s of rounds without any issue. Picked up a full size with rail or $579 from Bulls Eye London (site sponsor I believe) I think there was 2 left ;)
