What is the best way to take the muzzle brake off from the Norinco M14?

I was trying to take the muzzle brake off from the Norinco M14, but noticed the muzzle brake is soldered or welded onto the barrel, and I was going to bang it off, but maybe it's not a good idea, because I never done it before!... Any expertise to what I should do without damaging the barrel?. I thanks in advance.
 
Pay someone else to do it lol...

I believe there is a video from one of Hungry's clinics floating around on Youtube on how to remove these. I'd post the link but I'm on my mobile right now.
 
The MB has 2 small holes that are plug welded to the barrel.
Support the barrel carefully, get a block of hard wood or soft metal with a sharp (corner not rounded) edge, and a hammer.
