i am just looking for some fellow cgn'ers opinions on this topic. i have a 10/22 and was wondering on what is the best (that you have found) ammo to use for target shooting. i am shooting outdoors, at any where between 50-100 meters. any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I shoot CCI Stingers and CCI Mini-Mags out of my 10/22 most of the time and I can't remember the last time I had any sort of jam. Actually my 10/22 seems to feed most 22 ammo well with the exception of the truncated cone type bullets such as Remington Yellow Jackets. Every once in a while they will not feed propertly.
I have the 10/22 Stainless Target model. After the trial and error with many types of ammo mine showed it liked American Eagle 38gr (#AE22) the best. Federal Gameshock 38 gr (#712) came a close second. Funny thing is AE's are made by Federal and I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same, as their ballistics are identical. AE's are alot cheaper, about $16.00/400rds. One of these days I'll take a pic of my 100 meter target and post it.
