What is the 'better' choice?

Well, I have been able to save up about $200 this semester to do one of two things. First choice: buy a Savage Mark II-BV (I am going to see when the accu-trigger version is available, I have read March or so), however, I will have to wait until spring (which I should have some more money saved). The second choice is buy a barrel, stock, and some internals for my 10/22.

Currently I only have the Ruger, so my Girlfriend says that I should buy the other rifle (that way we can shoot together,:) gotta love her). I can't decide: cool new parts now, or wait for a new rifle? Too many decisions...

Side note, the Savage will also need a scope.

Thanks for any tips or thoughts.

I am voting for more guns. Have some fun get another rifle for the GF. Goose25 has a good idea with the Toz 78. Something affordable yet will give you years of enjoyment and you will make the GF happy. Another rifle may even bring you closer together and give you both yet another activity you would enjoy together.

Thanks for all of the replys fellas'. I am going to go for the new rifle. Epps has the Savage that I am after, so we may wander that way after Christmas.
