I know there are a lot of variables but looking for going rate of a very good condition 1895 negant revolver with leather holster , lanyard,oil can and screw driver /take down tool. I know what I paid for it but just wondering if I got taken (it was a impulse buy) .

Roughly 400-800$. They don't come up too often but I have seen them sell within that price range. Personally at the end of the summer I intend to budget 800$ to find one, but I still hope to have about 200$ left over when I am done.

M1895 Nagants are quite cheap where I'm from, there's unknown thousands of them, many copies, and who knows where they turn up from or their history or their quality of finish and serviceability varies due to cache and oxidization issues.
It's fairly common for a household in the 'border guard' states and baltics to have a nagant or pps, ppsh from the last decades of peasant army days prior and cached buried during to the marxist bolsheviks and soviet socialist revolution to war times.
The gas seal was, is, a very desirable quality in design, so much as many copies of the action were made in modern revolvers in Russia.
Many were barreled or modified for suppressor for more recent target competition as well of course for many government agencies, as well as 'forest people', and termed guerrilla resistance right up through the mid 1950's in the baltics and border guard states 'Ukraine', moldova, romania, even finland and poland etc.

Nope your not mis-remembering, Lots of places they were $199, But then supply dried up, and the people who got them dont let them go to often
