What is the lightest 1022 available ?

Why is the M.R. Better? It's a 1/2 lb heavier than yours. Do it take 25rnd mags? The Magnum research is listed at $750 + taxes = $840 . It's going to cost me $650 for the Axiom/tacsol/gun.

Benz chambering, Graphite Bull barrel which is 6x stiffer than the equivalent in steel and dissipates heat a lot faster.

My only beef with them is the standard 10/22 trigger, but I just dropped in one of the Ruger BX triggers and it's a dream to shoot now.

Magnum research is made by ruger? Or it just takes the 1022 trigger .

I don't think that Axiom/Tac Sol build comes in at 3lb 12oz loaded. Even if it did it has no optics or sights. You don't need to spend a 1000$ to get a 10/22 under 4lbs.
I have had a number of light weight builds but surprise surprise, a factory Compact 10/22 (Model 1231) weights 3lb 11 oz according to Ruger. It even has thingys so you can aim it. Check it out.
Don't waste your money on a bunch of parts a 10 year old will not need. Save the cash and buy him a small shotgun to complement his 22. He will like that much more.

I already have a 1022 and I bought an Axiom stock for a $100. He really enjoys the 1022 much more than his Henry bolt. He's been shooting for a bit over a yr now . Maybe a small .410 for his birthday:)

Ruger list the Carbine 18.5" barrel at 5Lbs and the compact at 4.5lbs. And take down at around 4.3-4.6lbs

Oops never saw that. Playing around with optics and stuff..

My 2x20 with rings was about 11oz heavy.
See All Sight is only like 1.8oz
Chinese reddot only like 4oz

My 10/22 now with a chinese TRS25 knock off is now 4lbs 6 oz without mag, VS 4lbs 13.5oz ( 7.5 oz difference )

And only 4lbs 14.4oz with 25rd BC mag loaded ( Mag and Ammo 7.5 oz )

RobertMcC, I see your gun has (what looks to be) a thread protector on the end of the barrel.

Would you happen to know where I'd find one for a standard takedown barrel? I'd like that option as an alternative to the flash hider.

Thanks in advance.

Yes got a crude thread protector. I found it in my tool box, Its short so I got a bunch of crush washers behind to make the difference. I'm working on getting a proper one for mine. Dlask might have a smaller then .920 one. Questar I think is where I got this one at.

You dont think!!!!!
You dont know is more like it?
Do you have one? Maybe save your comments until you do.
Loaded with mag and trs-25 3.75lb iirc. Look at my past posts. There is a pic on the scale!
If your building from a 10/22. Sell the barrel and stock to recoupe money.
$300 rifle
$300 barrel
$125 stock
Minus parts sold
Is $600-$700
Not the $1000 people are claiming!!!
That amount is for the SR22 owners

Hey bud,
I don't think it, because I know it.
You never could provide a picture on the scale with ammo. You managed to turn the gun over so the mag and mag well was hidden and it had no optic.
I do have a number of 10/22's and I am not just talking s&%t about some "build" I claim I did and then sold as it was a POS.
You feel free to sift through your own posts and show me a picture of your rifle with a mag and/or ammo visible.
I called you on it then, and I will call you on it now.
Your gun was 3.7 bare, no optic, ammo or mag.......The story gets better every time you tell it.
Here is your photo, I see the optic and the full mag clearly.......
