What is the lightest 1022 available ?

speaking of light builds......

this last weekend i was farting around out in the shop and i put a TacSol aluminum barrel on a stock ruger receiver with the plastic trigger group and put it on a hogue stock and holy cr@p was that light!

i should go put it back together and weight it, it is by far the lightest gun ive ever had in my hands.

I had that setup built once. Wish I never sold it, like usual! It feals like a toy, but doesn't mess around in the accuracy department.

See don't need no fancy alum receiver and axiom stock.
 
i was out mucking around in the shop today so i put the gun back together just to get the official weight of it.

here ya go!

here is the gun;
RIA receiver, TacSol Barrel, ruger plastic trigger group, RIA bolt

total weight is 4lbs 1.5oz (jesus!)

i put a red dop and a rail with screws on the scale to get a total weight with a optic

I've got a Tacsol Xring and that thing is LIGHT. I've also had the action and barrel out of the stock and the action and barrel is crazy light. Much of the weight is in the stock.

Lets face it. The stock receiver is already alloy. And the stock trigger group is plastic. Swap the barrel to a light Tacsol or other alloy or composite barrel with liner for a huge gain over a steel barrel. Then find the very lightest possible stock. Anything else isn't aimed at weight but at other factors.

I had a dlask 8" and it was too much for me.

Yes it is loud, but it's not even close to rifle or handgun noise. I can bear a few shots without ear pro.

I just acquired this little 10/22 and was truly blown away by how light it was!
I remembered this past thread where there was much speculation and even some outright denial about some of the claimed weight figures of a .920 Aluminum barrel and Axiom stock combo.
First off, I have no affiliation with the member named little_airwolf and am aware of his history...that said, I do feel like he was called-out unfairly in this thread and he was stating the truth about the weight of his rifle.

Heres the specs on mine...

-factory receiver and bolt
-whistlepig 10" Charger barrel factory fluted and threaded
-factory polymer trigger-group
-Blackhawk! Axiom stock
-williams ace in the hole rail
-Holosun 403 RDS
